“Small firms urged to alter printing regimes”

“Small firms urged to use efficient printing techniques The amount of money small businesses can save by adopting a new printing regime has been highlighted by one industry expert.

With firms struggling to get by in the tough economic times and bookkeeping becoming increasingly important, saving money is on the agenda for many enterprises.

Andrew Boddington, marketing director for Return On IT, has claimed that by reusing their old printing equipment, firms can save money and help the environment.

“Lots of people do refill ink and laser cartridges and there’s often very much a financial benefit compared with new branded [products]. You’ve got a trade off sometimes in quality but I’d guess that probably 80 per cent of laser printing is used internally and doesn’t have to be at the peak of presentation quality and for that refills suit everyone I think,” he commented.

“We’re looking for people to do the right thing environmentally and not basically just chuck things or not care what happens to it. But when it can be reused having been data wiped and cleaned it will all be money returned to the client from that.”
